The Usefullness of Facebook for Marketing... Even for Christians

So I had every intention of heading out tonight to catch movie and had planned out my day to be available tonight. However, yesterday a facebook friend posted a link to a video. The headline read something like All Men Need to Watch This. Now, as a nosy woman who is single I just had to click and see what this was about…

The video was about how men should act in marriage based on the teachings of the Bible. It features a pastor out west. I was intrigued… not just as a nosy single woman… but as a nosy single woman who is searching for a new lifelong mate for marriage (at some point down the road after I have deemed a man worthy). Most notably, there are several other videos from this same pastor, one of which talks about how women should act in marriage.

Now, I will be posting the two videos I’m referencing on another post within this next week (maybe even tomorrow) and some of my thoughts behind them in the hopes we can have a nice open discussion on the topic. In the meantime, though, I have been so intrigued by this particular pastor and his no-nonsense speak that I have moved on to other videos on his site. I’ve completely fallen into his teaching of the Song of Songs. I’m still getting into the beginning study of this book… but as I understand so far, this book of the Bible talks about love, sex, intimacy, etc. as a Christian couple.

So, I’ve blown off going to the movies… and here I sit on a Saturday night drinking some wine, doing my nails, and listening to this pastor teach about Songs of Solomon. All this because of a simple post on Facebook. Still think facebook marketing doesn’t work? It’s time to think again!

If interested, here’s the links of the first two videos I’ve watched. There’s a total of 11 parts to the series. You can easily find the links to the remaining parts after watching the first two. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have been! Feel free to come back here and post any comments to these videos after watching!

An additional video from this series… http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/the-peasant-princess/my-beloved-my-friend

This particular video talks about being selfish in a marriage and what that means. It also talks about being selfish as someone who is single. Finally, it discusses how to stop being selfish and become a servant. Very powerful, I think.

Tie this into marketing… part of marketing is about being selfless and helping others and how your product or service can help and serve others.
